The following chip set creates a radio for operation in the 1.5 to 2.5 GHz frequency range. It can be used to make either a FHSS radio that works under 802.11, or a DECT compliant system. Several of these components are general purpose products that work well in a variety of other applications.
HPMX-5001 2.5 GHz Up/Down converter IC
- General purpose part usable for wireless LANs, DECT, and many other systems
- Incorporated functions:
- up and down converting mixers, VCO and frequency doubler, divide by 32/33 prescaler
- Key specs:
- 3 Volt operation
- designed for use with HPMX-5002 for DECT or 802.11 FHSS
HPMX-5002 IF amplifier / demodulator IC
- Relatively specialized chip
- Incorporated functions:
- down converter, IF amplifier, RSSI, synthesizer, reference oscillator, demodulator and bit slicer
- Key specs:
- 802.11 FHSS or DECT compatible design
- IF input frequencies up to 250 MHz
- General purpose part usable for wireless LANs and many other systems
- Key specs:
- 1.9 dB NF, 19 dB gain at 2.4 GHz [typ]
- General purpose part usable for CDMA, wireless LANs and many other systems
- Key specs:
- 1.5 dB NF, 13 dB gain at 2.4 GHz [typ]
