Multipoint Video Distribution Systems (MVDS) is the European designation for broadband wireless systems operating in the 40.5 - 42.5 GHz band. MVDS originally was intended for use in analog TV broadcasting, but other services including high-speed internet access now are being considered.
Licensed Millimeter Wave Systems (LMWS) was the original designation in the US for the 40.5 - 42.5 GHz band. In general, LMWS has been used to refer to any broadband spectrum allocation at millimeter wave frequencies.
