ARDIS is a private network two way data service owned by Motorola and presently operational. It provides coverage to major metropolitan areas in the U.S.; there is no international access. Terminal / handset cost is ~ $4000; the design is old-fashioned. ARDIS has the ability to support a wide array of uses, but the user cost is high.
